Assistive Technology Västerbotten is a specialist function within the assistive technology and interpreting field. Our mission is to support customers in their work to meet users' needs for assistive devices and provide interpreting services to users. We operate throughout the county and are represented in Umeå, Skellefteå, and Lycksele with just over 100 employees distributed across three departments.

This position is part of the Prescription Support and Administration department. The main mission of Prescription Support is to assist the professionals who prescribe assistive devices through consultation, training, adaptations, and special adaptations to meet individual solutions. Here, assistive technology consultants and technicians work in teams while having significant personal responsibility in planning their assignments. The operations are largely funded through agreements with municipalities and internal customers.

We place great emphasis on creating a health-promoting workplace. We also offer wellness grants or an hour of wellness per week.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Assistive Technology Technician with us, you provide essential service and enable interventions that impact many.

As an assistive technology technician, you work closely with prescribers of assistive devices. You work both independently and as part of a team with other employees.

Your role as an assistive technology technician includes a wide range of tasks, including testing, special adaptations, and adjustments of assistive devices, repairs, and technical advice, which form the foundation of your work. Documentation according to applicable legislation is part of your responsibilities as a technician.

You will work within several different product areas, such as mobility, transfer, and hygiene aids for both children and adults.

Your workplace is in Umeå, but county assignments with same-day travel may occur.

The operations are funded through revenues where you play an important role as your efforts are billed to the customer through your documentation. Therefore, we want you to be business and customer-oriented.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with post-secondary education focused on mechanics and electronics, or with relevant work experience deemed equivalent. Educational training and experience in conducting training sessions are advantageous.

Experience in assistive technology operations or with medical technology products, as well as experience in healthcare, is also advantageous.

You have a good ability to collaborate in teams, express yourself well in speech and writing, and possess good computer skills.

A professional demeanor and high social competence are important for meeting both assistive technology users and networks in a professional manner. You enjoy being flexible and solution-oriented in personal meetings and assessments. Therefore, we believe you have a particular interest in problem-solving. You take significant personal responsibility, see your role in the team, and contribute to a positive work environment.

A valid driver's license (B) is required.
